Bwaise

Bwaise is a suburb of Kampla, Uganda.

Our interest in Bwaise started in 1997. Three Venture Scouts from 2nd Oundle joined an expedition to Uganda with other Ventures, Scouts and Leaders from Northamptonshire. Links had been forged with Outspan Day and Boarding School,a primary school in Bwaise, and our young people were given the chance to visit and experience life in Uganda.

Christopher Bamber, Brian Weatherington and Simon Burchill came home with many wonderful memories of their time in Uganda and especially of the school and it’s students. Following their visit we started our first sponsorship of a young girl in the primary school called Nabuule Mary.

Each year Our young people have raised money towards this sponsorship and also get a chance to find out more about life in another culture.
